DesignColumbus 2021 Will Be a Virtual Event; Call for Presentations Open
COLUMBUS, OHIO – (12.14.2020) – The Columbus Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and USGBC Central Ohio – co-hosts of the annual education day and expo DesignColumbus – announce a virtual format for their 2021 event and invite proposals for presentations.
DesignColumbus 2021 will be a multi-day event taking place the week of April 26, 2021. It will be hosted live via Zoom and feature multiple education sessions. DesignColumbus attendees can earn AIA and GBCI continuing education units (CEUs) for each education session; persons attending the full schedule of presentations can CEUs. Vendors and sponsors will participate in the show by making brief presentations in conjunction with the education sessions.
The call for presentations is currently open. Presentations should focus new technologies, regional issues or high-profile projects and enhance the knowledge of attendees about design, construction and operational practices that promote green building. Presenters will be assisted in obtaining AIA and GBCI credits for their presentations. Proposals can be submitted at designcolumbus.org. The submission deadline is Jan. 26, 2021 and selected speakers/panels will be notified on Feb. 4, 2021.

Participants in DesignColumbus represent the entire project team, including architects, designers, engineers, owners, developers, government officials, municipal planners, facility managers, contractors, construction managers, construction specifiers, manufacturers, product representatives and others.
The 2021 show represents the 10th year of partnership between The Columbus Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and USGBC Central Ohio. Working together, the two organizations have achieved steady growth for the trade show; DesignColumbus 2020 saw record attendance and continued high quality of its education sessions.
Founded in 1958, the Columbus Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) encompasses members from all disciplines – architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, subcontractors, product representatives, owners and facilities managers – of the design and construction industry throughout Central Ohio. The chapter strives to advance construction technology through a variety of educational, certification and other communication venues.
